Mulled wine, also known as spiced wine, is a beverage usually made with red wine along with various mulling spices and sometimes raisins. It is served hot or warm as a traditional drink during winter, especially around Christmas. Recipe: combine a dry red or white wine with fresh oranges, cinnamon, mulling spices, sweetener and liqueur (optional); simmer up to 3 hours; strain and season; then serve warm in a heatproof mug.
